In our society one is expected to be a cyborg. A cyborg is a being with both biological and artificial parts and is thus intertwined with electronic, mechanical technology. Through advancing technology many are forced to make a transformation to new media. I found the discussion topic extremely interesting when explaining the transformation between digital vs print media. One can argue that the only reason why print media still is implemented is because of tradition. Generations before make rituals out of waking up and reading the sunday paper. Now that news is constantly being updated via online news, twitter, Facebook, why would one subject themselves to slower, older, and a less current form of media? All media is constantly changing forcing older generations to cope with the digital transformation.
There are many reasons why one would give in to the constantly changing forms of media. This article provides key points that drive digital transformation. http://www.ciol.com/News/News-Reports/Key-points-that-drive-digital-transformation/161767/0/. The article explains how technology is changing faster everyday. I can relate to the smaller population that use print media because of my sunday ritual. I find it relaxing to sit down and have breakfast while reading a calming print paper. Although I know that the paper is not the most current form of information, I still enjoy the ritual.
